Founded in 2011, our ensemble contains both Chinese and Western instruments, and we strive to provide learning and performance opportunities for all interested participants. Our ensemble hosts one full concert each semester and performs in various events at Princeton University and in the surrounding community. In 2012, we performed “Dance of the Yao Tribe” at Carnegie Hall in New York.

We offer weekly rehearsals in the Woolworth Music Building on Princeton’s campus. All levels are welcome (beginners too!). Rehearsals are structured to allow everyone to learn or build proper playing technique, while also learning songs and group performance skills.

All other instruments (Chinese and Western) are welcome in the group, and we arrange rehearsals and pieces based on interest and availability. Everyone learns to read parts in both standard Western and traditional Chinese notation.
